We believe in offering quality products you can depend on. We stand behind our lighting fixtures and accessories with a 5-Year Warranty. This warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Important Note:

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Below you will find the details of what our warranty covers, how to make a claim, and any exceptions that may apply.

What Our 5-Year Warranty Covers

• Unexpected Electrical or Mechanical Failures: If your lighting fixture stops working due to a defect in its electrical or mechanical components (e.g., wiring, internal circuitry, LED drivers, etc.), we will repair or replace the item.
• LED Module and Bulb Defects: Should the integrated LED module or included bulb fail prematurely or display inconsistent performance (e.g., flickering, dimming unexpectedly, or not turning on), we will provide a suitable replacement or repair at our discretion
• Defective Parts: If your product exhibits faults such as incorrect assembly, loose or improperly installed components, or other manufacturing errors, we will address the issue promptly through repair or replacement.
• Structural Integrity: Should any part of the fixture’s construction (e.g., metal housing, plastic or glass casing) fail or break under normal conditions due to poor workmanship, it is covered under this warranty.
• Power Supplies and Drivers: Faulty or malfunctioning power supply units or LED drivers are covered if they stop functioning correctly under regular usage.
• Wiring and Connectors: If the internal wiring or connectors exhibit a defect that leads to product failure or unsafe operation, we will correct or replace them as needed.
• Flickering or Dimming: In the event that flickering, dimming, or other performance issues become evident due to a covered fault, we will repair or replace the fixture.
• Overall Light Output: If you experience a significant reduction in light output (beyond typical depreciation for LEDs over time) attributable to an internal product fault, this warranty ensures appropriate remedial action.

What Our 5-Year Warranty Does Not Cover

• Normal Wear and Tear
  Minor cosmetic issues such as surface scratches, colour fading, or other naturally occurring changes that happen over time are not covered.
• Improper Installation or Maintenance
  Damage resulting from incorrect installation, improper wiring, or using the product in conditions not recommended by the manufacturer (e.g., outdoor use for an indoor-rated fixture) is excluded.
• Misuse, Abuse, or Alterations
  Any product that has been modified, tampered with, or used in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose will not be covered.
• Acts of Nature or External Factors
  Damage from power surges, lightning strikes, floods, or other natural disasters and external factors is not covered.
• Discharged Non Rechargeable Batteries
  Non-rechargeable (“primary”) batteries - e.g., alkaline, zinc-carbon, or primary lithium (Li/FeS2) - are consumables.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

1. Contact Our Team
   Reach out to our team at shop@refraction.lighting with your order information, proof of purchase, and a detailed description of the issue.
2. Assessment
   We will assess the reported problem - sometimes this can be done remotely (through photos or videos) or it may require returning the product for inspection.
3. Repair or Replacement
   If your claim is approved, we will, at our discretion, repair the faulty item or replace it with a same or comparable product.
4. Shipping or Service Costs
   Depending on the nature of the claim, you may be responsible for shipping costs associated with returning the defective product to us. However, if it is deemed a covered defect under this warranty (and/or the Australian Consumer Law), we will cover the return shipping of the repaired or replaced item.

• This 5-Year Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser from the date of purchase.
• Please retain your proof of purchase (invoice, receipt, or order confirmation) for the warranty to be valid.

1. Promoter

1. 1. The promoter is Refraction Lighting Pty Ltd (ABN 84 682 374 572) of Unit 1/80 Philip Street Hawthorne QLD 4171, Australia (Promoter).

2. Promotion Name

1. 1. This promotion is known as the “Refraction Lighting Black Friday Giveaway 2025” (Promotion).

3. Promotion Period

1. 1. The Promotion starts at 12:01 am AEST on 23 November 2025 and ends at 11:59 pm AEST on 1 December 2025 (Promotion Period).
   2. Orders placed outside the Promotion Period will not be eligible for entry.

4. Eligibility

1. 1. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older at the time of entry (Eligible Entrants).
   2. The following are not eligible to enter:
      • employees, contractors and directors of the Promoter;
      • immediate family members of those persons (spouse, de facto partner, parent, child, sibling);
      • any agents or third parties directly involved in the administration of the Promotion.
   3. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
   4. The Promotion is intended for retail customers only. The Promoter may, at its discretion, deem bulk orders, wholesale orders or orders placed under a wholesale or trade account as ineligible entries.

5. How to Enter

1. 1. During the Promotion Period, Eligible Entrants will automatically receive one (1) entry into the Promotion when they:
      • place a completed order at refraction.lighting; and
      • the order is fully paid and not subsequently cancelled or refunded.
   2. There is no separate entry fee charged for this Promotion. All products are sold at their usual prices and no surcharge is applied for entry.
   3. Each separate qualifying order during the Promotion Period constitutes one (1) entry. There is no maximum number of entries per Eligible Entrant, provided each entry is based on a separate qualifying order.
   4. If an order is cancelled or fully refunded for any reason, the corresponding entry or entries may be withdrawn at the Promoter’s discretion.

6. Game of Chance

1. 1. This Promotion is a game of chance. Skill plays no part in determining the winner.
   2. Each valid entry has an equal chance of winning.

7. Prize

1. 1. There is one (1) prize to be won. The prize (Prize) consists of:
      • WUBEN E7 2-in-1 Head Torch and EDC Torch - Head Torch Extended Battery Kit (Includes Extender, 18650 Battery & Headband) – Approximate retail value: AUD $71.00;
      • WUBEN F5 Camping Light – Approximate retail value: AUD $51.00;
      • WUBEN G5 EDC Torch – Approximate retail value: AUD $39;
      • Nitecore EDC37 Ultimate Tactical EDC Torch - Approximate retail value: AUD $219
   2. The total approximate retail value of the Prize is AUD $380.00, inclusive of GST, correct at the time of publication.
      
   3. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, credit or any other product, except where required by law.
   4. If any part of the Prize is unavailable for any reason beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute that part of the Prize with a prize or item of equal or greater value.

8. Draw

1. 1. The winner will be determined by a random electronic draw from all valid entries received during the Promotion Period.
   2. The draw will take place at the offices of the Promoter at 6:00 pm AEST on 6 December 2025 (Draw Date).
   3. The Promoter may use a computerised random selection system or another fair and transparent method of random draw.
   4. The Promoter may, at its discretion, appoint an independent scrutineer to observe or verify the draw.

9. Winner Notification and Verification

1. 1. The provisional winner will be notified by email to the email address associated with their order within three (3) business days of the Draw Date.
   2. The winner’s first name, surname initial and State or Territory may be published on the Promoter’s website and/or social media channels.
   3. The Promoter may request reasonable proof of identity, age, residency and eligibility (for example photo identification, proof of address, proof of purchase).
   4. If the winner does not provide adequate proof of identity or eligibility, the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, deem the entry invalid and conduct a re-draw.

10. Unclaimed Prize

1. 1. The winner must claim the Prize by responding to the Promoter’s notification email and providing any requested details within fourteen (14) days of the initial notification.
   2. If:
      • the Promoter is unable to contact the winner after making reasonable attempts; or
      • the winner does not claim the Prize within the time specified; or
      • the winner is deemed ineligible or their entry otherwise invalid,
      then the Prize will be deemed unclaimed.
   3. In the event of an unclaimed Prize, the Promoter will conduct a further draw from all remaining valid entries at the same location on 20 December 2025 at 10:00 am AEST, subject to any applicable legislation.
   4. Any winner in the unclaimed prize draw will be notified and published in the same manner as the original draw.

11. Delivery of Prize

1. 1. The physical components of the Prize will be shipped to the winner’s nominated Australian delivery address at the Promoter’s cost.
      
   2. The Promoter is not responsible for any loss, delay or damage to the Prize once it has been dispatched, except to the extent required under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Privacy

1. 1. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion, contact entrants and award the Prize.
   2. By entering the Promotion, entrants consent to the Promoter using their personal information for:
      • administering the Promotion;
      • contacting the winner;
      • publishing the winner’s details in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; and
      • sending marketing communications, where the entrant has opted in to receive such communications or where permitted by law.
   3. Entrants may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in emails or contacting the Promoter. Opting out of marketing will not invalidate an eligible entry.
   4. The Promoter will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, available at https://refraction.lighting/policies/privacy-policy.

13. General Conditions

1. 1. By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
   2. The Promoter reserves the right, subject to any applicable law, to:
      • verify the validity of entries and entrants;
      • disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is misleading, incomplete, fraudulent, tampered with, or otherwise not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; and
      • cancel, suspend or modify the Promotion if it cannot be run as planned, including due to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any cause beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control.
   3. The Promoter is not responsible for:
      • any late, lost, misdirected or corrupted entries, communications or Prize deliveries;
      • any technical issues, including failures or disruptions of any network, hardware or software; or
      • any tax implications that may arise from winning the Prize. Entrants should seek independent financial or tax advice.
   4. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies any consumer guarantees or other rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
   5. To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the paragraph above, the Promoter and its related entities will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) arising out of or in connection with the Promotion or the Prize.

14. Social Media

1. 1. The Promotion may be advertised or promoted on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
   2. The Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Meta & Google.
   3. Entrants release Facebook, Instagram, Meta & Google from any liability arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Jurisdiction

1. 1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
   2. Each entrant irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and courts of appeal from them.

16. Permits

1. 1. If required, the Promoter will obtain any necessary trade promotion lottery permits or authorities in any Australian State or Territory and will publish the permit details here.
   2. At the time these Terms and Conditions were prepared, the total prize pool was below the common permit thresholds in ACT, SA, NT and NSW. The Promoter will review the requirements before launching the Promotion and will comply with all applicable laws.
